Jackdaws Farm Visit - PACKED LUNCH - parents to transport to/from

This event will take place between 9:10am and 3:00pm on 05/10/2026

Jackdaws Class will be visiting the farm as a fantastic way to begin our Stone Age to Iron Age history learning. We are going to be considering what life would be like for Stone Age settlers in the South West, using the farm as our imagined home for the day.

We will not be using a coach for this trip, we are asking parents to drop children directly to the farm.  The farm is approximately a 10 minute drive from the school.    Arrival between 9.10 – 9.25am

Suitable clothing: everyone should wear practical outdoor activity clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty. Everyone MUST wear LONG TROUSERS with trainers, wellies or boots and longer socks (not trainer socks) that you can tuck your trousers into. This is because there are lots of areas of long grass with hidden nettles, brambles and other scratchy things. Trousers will also help prevent ticks biting. Due to the muddy areas and stream access, wellies are best.

Layers: Please send an additional jumper or outer layer in case of inclement weather.

Packed Lunch: please send your child with a packed lunch and a bottle of water and an extra snack – fresh fruit or vegetable – as we are outside, and extra sustenance is (in my experience) always needed!

We can refill their water bottles.

Collection between 3.00- 3.15pm – Please follow the one-way route.
