This term our BIG question is ‘How do we get about?” and we are thinking about transport, journeys and places. To help consolidate this learning, we are very excited to be able to offer a ‘Try the train’ trip in conjunction with South Western Trains.

Children will need to dropped off at the Station between 9.30 - 9.40am

We will be travelling with the local community ambassador from South Western trains, who will escort us safely on and off the train as well as answering the children’s questions.

On arrival, we will walk to the library via the gardens viewing some of the old city walls. At the library we will be given a room that we can use to eat an early packed lunch before we go into the large children’s library to look at the books. (It is much bigger than Axminster library!) The children can also borrow a book if they bring their library card along.   

Next we will visit the Museum which has some fascinating exhibits.  After our trip to the museum, we can return to the gardens for a run around before walking back to the station to catch the train back.  Parents will collect from the station between 3.10- 3.20pm
